How
much will it cost to repair my Camcorder?
Obviously
that depends allot on what kind of problem your digital camcorder
has, how far off the table it fell, how much slobber Johnny
spilled into it, and whether the unit fell in salt water or
fresh water...
Seriously
though, you can find our labor rates here,
so the only question would be the cost of parts. Once
your unit is on the bench, we'll be able to determine just
that, and contact you via e-mail with all of the costs involved,
and how long your unit's stay with us, will be.
We do all we can to make the
repair process both painless, and reasonable.
How
do I know if my camcorder is worth fixing?
The
recommended models and brands to fix are listed here.
My camcorder got wet, can you
fix it?
For cameras
or camcorders damaged by liquid or water, the estimate fee
is $50.00, and is applied to the cost of repair.
If your unit did get wet,
it's wise to remove the battery, and avoid powering it on.
If your camera or camcorder
was submerged for any length of time, it's over, time to go
shopping. If the lens has water spots inside - it's over,
time to go shopping. If water is dripping out from the inside
of your unit, it's over, time to go shopping. If your camcorder
or camera was LIGHTLY splashed or sprinkled with water, there
MAY be a chance that we can help you.
Yeah,
but wont it cost allot to ship my camcorder to you?
Actually,
the average cost of shipping a camcorder to us is about $10.00.
Remember, UPS is by far more cost effective than the Postal
Service, once you get past three pounds.
Why
don't you offer free estimates?
One
word, gimmick. Do you really think that repair shops
that offer free estimates are going to spend one minute on
your camcorder trying to figure out it's problem? No
way! They simply 'shoot' you a price, and hope the price
they quote you will cover the cost of parts and leave room
for plenty of profit. This works for them if it's an easy
repair, but bad for you if your unit was one of the 'easy'
ones, and you were charged too much money for the repair.
Simple to understand, yes?
How
much do you charge for estimates?
$30.00.
A modest sum, wouldn't you agree? The estimate fee is applied
to the cost of repair. That's fair, isn't it?
How
much do you charge for return shipping?
Negotiated cut rates with
UPS have resulted in typical GROUND shipping charges of $10.00.
Second day air shipping (BLUE)
averages $20.00, and next day air shipping (RED)
averages of $40.00. Every repaired camcorder is insured for
value, and we only tack on $1.50 for packing supplies.
Once your contacted with the
estimate, simply let us know what method of UPS return shipping
you would prefer. If there is no preference mentioned, we
automatically ship regular UPS GROUND, insured for value.
If you'd prefer to use a different
shipping carrier, or if you'd like us to use your account
number when shipping, simply let us know...
