Here
are some common JVC Error codes:
E01
Tape load / unload time-out
Generally it's a mechanical
problem, with defective gears in the tape loading mechanism.
You can expect to pay major labor for this type of repair.
Parts are nominal.
E02 Supply reel error
E03 Take-up error
Most common in the Mini-DV models. This problem
can be defective reel tables, and it can also be a defective
rotary encoder. You can expect to pay
intermediate to major labor for this type of repair. Parts
are nominal.
E04 Cylinder error
Very common. Problem is due to
cold solder on the cylinder drive PC board. Re-flowing the
solder solves this problem. Labor is typically intermediate,
to repair this problem.
E06 Capstan error
·Generally either a defective
capstan motor, or cold solder connections. Since the soldering
process is surface mount technology, both tedious and time
consuming, labor can be intermediate to major.
No Picture in Camera mode (All models)
Defective CCD imager. The CCD imager is the device that 'sees',
directly behind the lens. Labor is minor to intermediate,
model dependent.
Camcorder Eats Tapes
Defective
idler assembly, or debris on the tape path. Incorrect back
tension. Labor is intermediate to major, with parts averaging
$65.00.
Dew Detected
Either
a defective dew sensor,or cold solder. You can expect to pay
intermediate to major labor. Dew sensors average $20.00.
How
much do you charge for estimates?
The
estimate fee is $30.00, and is waived if your unit is repaired.

$10.00, with only $1.50 tacked on for packing supplies.
