E01 Tape load / unload time-out  ^ Top
Generally it's a mechanical problem, with defective gears/ levers in the tape loading mechanism. You can expect to pay intermediate to major labor for this type of repair, plus the cost of parts.

E02 Supply reel error  ^ Top
Almost always a mechanical fault of some time, which generally requires the replacement of parts. On occasion, this symptom can also be caused by an electrical problem. You can expect to pay intermediate to major labor for this type of repair, plus the cost of parts.

E03 Take-up error  ^ Top
Almost always a mechanical fault of some time, which generally requires the replacement of parts in the mechanics. Other times, this is an electrical problem that mimics a mechanical fault. You can expect to pay intermediate to major labor for this type of repair, plus the cost of parts.

E04 Cylinder error  ^ Top
Very common. Problem is more than likely due to cold solder on the cylinder drive PC board. Re-flowing the solder solves this problem. Labor is typically intermediate to major to repair this problem.

E06 Capstan error  ^ Top
Generally either a defective capstan motor, or cold solder connections. Labor can be intermediate to major.

No Picture in Camera mode (All models)  ^ Top
Can be a defective CCD imager, a defective lens, or electrical connections that have been broken. Depending upon which of these your camcorder has, labor will vary between minor to major, and then you have the cost of parts, if needed.

Camcorder Eats Tapes  ^ Top
Defective idler assembly, reel table, or debris on the tape path. Incorrect back tension. Labor is intermediate to major, with parts averaging $65.00.

Dew Detected  ^ Top
Either a defective dew sensor, or cold solder. You can expect to pay intermediate to major labor. Dew sensors are approx. $20.00.

How much do you charge for estimates?  ^ Top
The estimate fee is $30.00, and is waived if your unit is repaired. That's fair, isn't it?

How much do you charge for return shipping?  ^ Top
We generally use UPS to do all of our shipping. On average, return shipping with insurance costs $10.50.  We only tack on a buck for the new box, bubble bag, and packing material. For the heavier, more expensive cameras, return shipping costs do increase, depending upon both their weight, and value. If you'd prefer to use your UPS account number when shipping, simply let us know... Once your contacted with the estimate, simply let us know what method of UPS return shipping you would prefer. If there is no preference mentioned, we automatically ship regular UPS GROUND, insured for value.
