How much will it cost to repair my Sony camera?  ^ Top

That depends a lot on how far off the floor it fell, and whether it was splashed with water, or if it went scuba diving.

Once your unit is on the bench, we'll be able to determine just that, and contact you via e-mail with all of the costs involved, and how long your unit's stay with us, will be.

We do all we can to make the repair process painless as possible.

Do you repair Digital SLR cameras?  ^ Top

Absolutely! We repair Sony DSLR cameras, and can provide minor to intermediate repairs for all other makes and models. Simply contact us (Click Here) with your make, model and the symptom you're experiencing, and we'll let you know if we'll be able to help you. Likely, we'll also be able to tell you what kind of repair total you can expect.

We do not ship cameras out for repair. All repairs, to component level, are performed In-House - and have been that way since the very beginning - going all the way back to the 80's.

My lens doesn't operate properly

It's possible that your camera may have a shock or an impact of some type. It's also possible that the lens was forced in, or prevented from coming out. Other times it may not focus or zoom properly. In any case, it may be possible for us to repair the lens. Other times, the lens has to be replaced.

The cost for labor is model dependent. If we can repair or rebuild your cameras lens, the total cost is likely to be intermediate to major. If you send us an email with your cameras model number, we might be able to give you a good indication on the cost of repair.

My camera got wet, can you fix it?

For cameras or camcorders damaged by liquid or water, the estimate fee is $50.00, and is applied to the cost of repair.

If your unit got wet, remove the battery and DON'T turn it on!.

The longer your camera or camcorder stays under water, the worse it gets. The one factor you have control over is time - how fast you can get the camera to our repair facility - because it's time that is the real killer. Once water (salt water is worse yet) gets inside, corrosion begins to form quickly. Even if you use a blow dryer, you can't get it all out. If you wait too long, no amount of cleaning or labor will be able to restore it. That's why it needs to get here fast - that give you the best chance to get your unit restored.

Lost Videos & Pictures
It's recommended to download the pictures and videos from your camera as often as possible. However, sometimes it just happens - an accident - and now your precious memories are in jeopardy. The faster that camera gets here, the better the chance that we can either fix your camera, retrieve the files, or both. Our success rate is about 70%. We'll try our very best to get your precious memories back.

Won't it cost a lot to ship my camera to you?  ^ Top

The average cost of shipping a camera to us is about $15 - $20, depending on the weight. Leave out the battery and charger, unless they are part of the problem. If the package is 2 lbs or less, then use the Post Office. Use UPS if the weight is 3 lbs or more.

How much do you charge for estimates?  ^ Top

$30.00. A modest sum, wouldn't you agree? The estimate fee is applied to the cost of repair. That's fair, isn't it?

Why don't you offer free estimates?

One word, gimmick.  Do you really think that repair shops that offer free estimates are going to spend one minute on your camera trying to figure out it's problem?  No way!  They simply 'shoot' you a price, and hope the price they quote you will cover the cost of parts and leave room for plenty of profit. This works for them if it's an easy repair, but bad for you if your unit was one of the 'easy' ones, and you were charged too much money for the repair. Simple to understand, yes?

How much do you charge for return shipping?

We don't markup shipping charges. Average cost of shipping is between $15 - $20.

What kind of turn-a-round time do you have?   ^ Top

Once your unit arrives at our repair facility, we'll send you an email to let you know that it has arrived safely. Then, within just a couple business days, it's on the bench and we'll contact you once again with what we've found with the cost of repair.
